The Media Workshop offers a large format printer and an A1 laminator.

This unique resource can produce posters, banners and display panels. You can either design your work at The Media Workshop or bring work on disk to be printed out.

The printer can produce prints up to 44” (110cm) width at any length in full colour. We will stock A1 (61cm/24 inch) width paper rolls. If you require larger prints we’ll need to order this with prices availabe on request.

The Media Workshop’s large format printing resource is NOT a commercial operation and so we cannot work to tight deadlines or large print runs.

Discount rates available. The Media Workshop will charge on a group’s/individual’s ability to pay - to the minimum cost of materials. Any profits made will be ploughed back into this resource.

We accept input on either MAC or PC disks (USB memory stick, DVD & CD) with the following formats supported: Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark Xpress, Publisher and Word.

Image Files.
It best to save your images as TIFFS rather than JPEGS. If if using Photoshop save as Tiff WITHOUT Layers.

Quark Xpress and Illustrator
Scan in or create you document at the size it needs to be printed at with a resolution of 200 ppi.

Publisher and Word
If your document only contains text and clip art - create it on an A4 page size and we can scale it.

If you are using some of your own images scan in as follows:
Scan in 4” x 6” prints at 300 dpi and enlarge to 200%
Scan in 5” x 7” prints at 300 dpi and enlarge to 150%

Most modern digital cameras will have enough quality to be enlarged.

Create a folder copy all the images you intend to use into it. Then save your publisher document here too. Copy this folder to disk.

Photographs
Please bring along your original photographs as these may need to be rescanned. Remember all photographs need to be of good quality as a poor exposure or focused image will only get worse in the enlargement process.
