The
Pathways Research Project was an investigation into
the visual literacy development of children between
the ages of six and nine using media based arts
in the classroom. The project tracked three groups
of children through three years of school, evaluating
how they respond to visual literature - film, television,
photography, digital imaging etc. and working with
the children on media arts projects in the classroom.
Children are constantly bombarded by images, from
computer games to television and family snapshots.
Understanding how children respond to these visual
influences will help us to understand how we can
use images to help children learn.
